First Flag

The oldest preserved textile flag was found in Egypt made of crude Roman cloth and dates back to the third century AD. It was a breakthrough as ancient flags were normally made out of materials such as wood, metal and stone.

The colours of the band have great meaning as it represents oppression(black) overcome by bloody struggle(red) to be replaced by a bright future(white) and are derived from the Arab Liberation flag.
